Augustine articled with the firm of Messrs Goonting & Chew in mid-1977 and later joined Messrs Aljeffri & Co. He left Messrs Aljeffri & Co. in early 1995 to manage his own firm styled under Messrs James & Co. Messrs. James & Co. has been in existence since early 1995.
As the director of the firm he brings about 30 years of exposure in varied professional services rendered in the public practice. He has been exposed to a wide range of professional services including auditing, accounting, secretarial, taxation, receivership, Business Finance, Business Consultancy etc.
He has also the relevant experience in conducting audits of municipalities and town councils under the direct supervision of the Auditor General. He has approved licenses issued by the Ministry of finance to carry our audits and liquidation assignments. In Messrs Aljeffri & Co he was the Partner in charge of Insolvency/Receivership.

Tharma returned to Malaysia in December 1993 after being in U.K. where he practised as a Registered Auditor. In January 1994 he joined Viru, Goona & Associates, Chartered Accountants as the third partner. In December 1994, for technical reasons he started an associate practice, Iswara & Company. Both Iswara & Company and Viru, Goona & Associates are still for all intents and purposes one firm. The two firms specialise in the provision of services to clients who prefer a more personalised approach to their financial affairs.
As an Auditor and Liquidator, he obtained his license and registered with the Ministry of Finance and Malaysian Institute of Accountants to carry out audits and liquidation assignments. As the liquidator of the firm, he relies on his 20 years of exposure in varied professional services rendered in public practice. He has also experienced in a wide range of professional services including auditing, accounting, taxation, receivership and liquidation and general corporate advisory.
His expertise though remains in the field of Court Appointed Liquidation where he has overseen the winding up administration of ailing property developers and the subsequent revival of abandoned projects.
Maria Chin is a chartered Accountant and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. (UK). She also has 30 years of work experience in the accountancy profession. She has a vast knowledge in Corporate Recovery and oversees all insolvency-related work. Apart from that, she has managed and oversee the operation and administration of a listed company (a loan exposure in excess of RM 1 Billion) under special administration pursuant to the Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad a (Malaysia’s asset management services and property development.
Her involvement includes monitoring accountants assignments and capital reduction schemes, receivership assignment of various industries which inter alia include high way and liquidation of companies with shareholders disputes amongst which include the management of oil palm plantation.
She also oversees the development and rehabilitation of several abandon housing projects with sales values in excess of RM200 million. She is involved in handling some judicial management assignments for property development companies.
